Texas Standard Presumptive Value Calculator Guide
Check the taxable base used for a Texas private-party vehicle purchase before visiting the county tax office.
Start with the deal price.
Use the negotiated selling price, not the monthly payment.
How the SPV comparison works
Enter the agreed purchase price and the vehicle's Standard Presumptive Value. The calculator compares the price with 80% of SPV and uses the larger amount for its estimate.
Certified appraisal path
When a qualifying certified appraisal is available, enter its value in the separate field. The estimate then compares the sales price with the appraisal instead of 80% of SPV.
What this tool does not determine
It does not retrieve a vehicle's SPV, verify appraisal eligibility or decide whether an exemption applies. Use the official Texas lookup and county documentation for those steps.
The calculator distinguishes official fixed rules from local or user-entered estimates. Dealer worksheets and licensing-office totals remain the final transaction records.
